eBay API info Dec 2016
Dec 2016:
The next round of Seller Release for ebay is up and available for viewing.
Please review the information available in our Seller Hub here.
A few key highlights to note:
RPI Mandate (API Changes)
Link: http://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/news/sp16/structured-data
There are changes coming to the identifiers which will provide extended support for additional identifiers across all ebay categories excluding Tickets, Travel; Real Estate and Services.
Of utmost importance is that DOES NOT APPLY will no longer be a valid identifier, nor will N/A. This means all integrated sellers will need to provide an identifier of some variety, to remain actively trading. When the API documentation is available; and the calls available in sandbox we will pass them along. For partners utilising MIP; MIP will need to provide the new identifiers structure for the product feeds across all MIP implementations.
Category Changes (New categories; some categories axed; some migrated)

There are some exciting new wellness categories available; as well as a number of category changes. Please review the above and update any impacted listings post the October release date.
Active Content (Same ol, with a reference tool available)

Same reminder folks. If you have standard templates, please consider reviewing these to remove all references to Active Content. This includes Javascript; flash; plug-in’s; form submissions; questionable links (may include imbedded links) and non-optimised content. Please log into your test stores and review your listings to see if your standard templates are compliant. If not, reach out to your design houses for support on revising these to be in line with the Active Content mandate.
Key timings:
- · New APIs for Product ID’s will be available in Sandbox from mid-November 2016
- · Structured Data changes to Product ID’s will go live February 2017 and will be enforced in March 2017

Please note, that this documentation does not yet specify the length of the eBay ePID (eBay Product Identifier). We will pass this information on as soon as we receive it.
