allow a default selection for pick list options
It would be great to be able to select a default pick list option for a required field, so when you are setting up say a new user and don't know their role, you can set the default to '-- please select --' then you can do filter to manage the data quality. Right now you have to pick something and this leads to poor data management - thanks

In most cases, unassigned options in required fields would affect the logic and functionality of those fields.
For example, when creating a new user, a Team must be selected because the user receives the roles and permissions associated with the chosen team.
As an alternative, you could create a separate team that would effectively function as 'Not Selected' option, and then later sort users into the appropriate teams as needed.

Hi E - Ok that makes sense, but say we are doing custom fields for our user case. Say like role, and we have a pick list option, it would be nice to be able to default to 'Please Select' so we can run logic off this selection, so we could create a report that is showing we need to work with active users who have not updated their role.
This came up as we migrated 2,000 clients, we wanted to get the users in quickly to the system, but we also have some required fields, this just made it easier for us to default to a 'Please Select' to get things rolling, I was able to mass change all missing fields to the 'please select' so we could just get users in, now we are working to remind users as we work with them on tickets up update their profile. The first blocker was to just get them in the system. Thanks
