Badging & Awards for Answerers and Support Staff
Hello,
I would like to know if there is a plan to implement awarding system with badges for questioners and answerer s who contribute to the support desks.
The badging system might be just like FourSquare or Duolingo. The functionality let the staff or volunteers to contribute and encourage them to participate in the support community. The functionality should be beyond the normal pointing or voting system
Your software would be the first one if you implement it

We don't plan on integrating such features in rewarding system. Though it would be considered to implement in long term roadmap planing.

I would also find Badges to be very useful for recognizing Users for specific behavior or accomplishments. I think adding this type of a 'game' element would help encourage users to participate more.
Can this be moved from a Question into an Idea for future consideration?

Sorry but it's not on the roadmap for 3.0 major release as of now, because we have more priority features to rethink, improve and develop.

Unfortunate to hear that but I understand that hard choices sometimes have to be made when planning a release.
Can you please keep this on your radar for a potential 4.0 feature? I really need a way for the app to self-reward users for contributing and participating.

Yes, we have that in mind for future releases, but when we polish all major staff on roadmap. There is always option to develop custom module, because we don't guarantee that this feature will be available sooner or later.

just my two cents from my own experience. I was mainly using on support forum for our project system of "karma". User was able to add positive or negative votes for certain posts. These points were anonymous and in the end ... after two years I saw really minimal usage of them.
What we use now for almost an years if very simple button "Thanks". After press, below topic appear "User X thank you for this post". And every user see just number of received "thanks". I consider this very nice and useful because without need, you directly see if anyone find your post useful and also who!
So if you will not be sure about some complex system of points, badges etc. please consider this very simple and very useful solution which is not so "game-like" like points/badges, but to be true ... how much serious users is interested in them? I would really like to see if anyone find my post useful.
