Utilize AJAX for topic submission

Archived Stas K. 12 years ago

When a user enters an idea/problem/question/thanks, the form should perform an ajax submission for search results and display them in the same div as the form with no page redirect. If no topic is found, the Description box should be shown so that the user can enter their idea right then and there.

In addition, if results are found, the user should still have an option to enter a new idea (as a much smaller call to action) if they don't see their idea listed.

I see that it will be very similar to GetSatisfaction, and I assume it's very user-friendly. But as of now we are preparing stable 1.0 release and consider that feature if we have enough time to incorporate it.

Hey Stas - is it possible for this feature to be made available in the feedback widget as well? currently I don't see it behaving in this way here on the userresponse.com homepage

Thanks!

Currently it's not available, but it will definitely be integrated as we plan to incorporate one more widget with adding response from widget. We'll work on improving widgets right after 1.1 release and when we have more time. Probably it will be incorporated in 1.2, but we better wait for Help Desk Module, as we have it also in plans.. close to summer :)

Sounds great, very much looking forward to that summer release! ;-)

We'll probably start using UR after the 1.1 release, and will try to keep customizations to an absolutely minimum until the summer release.

Have an awesome day!
