The issue with hidden questions and comments in pre-moderated communites

Archived Mike F. 11 years ago

1. We have premoderated community. And we have an issue with that - when customer post a new message, he did no see it in log. Because it waited for modeation. So customer post the same report few times in a row because he did not understand what happens and he did not see any feedback. How we can make him see his own question?

2. Same with comments in hidden discussions. When customer post a additional comment into already opened question, he need to wait before moderator agree with his post, to see it. But this thread visible only to two persons already - the one who started it, and the moderator. So we want to make comments from topic-starter to appear automaticaly in hidden dialogues, even in pre-moderated communities. How we can make it?

Mike,

We'll work on improvement in this section for 2.3.1 release that will be live in about 1 week.

As per moderation of topics.. If user added topic - he will receive email notification that it's in moderation, so he is aware of his topic to consider be approved.

As for comments - agree - we need to allow automatically comment by topic author.

If you have more suggestions on how to improve moderation system, please let us know

Update: Improved moderation in 2.3.2

Well. It's not really working as we see. People expect to see result in their browser window, not in their email box. This is not obvious and not immediate.

Should I understand you words about new release is that you will fix both of those issues I mentioned.?

The result is obvious - when user adds topic, he is notified by message that it's sent for moderation.

Some of the things will be improved to make moderation processes more rational, but I want to hear more constructive critics and detailed idea of how you see it's working in the right way, so it would be universal for everybody.
