Archive old posts

Is there a way to archive old posts? We don't want them to show under "ideas" or have them be a "Question" because they've been addressed...but we also don't want to delete them. Is there a good way to archive them?

Now you can archive topics and they won't be shown in the list of topics, but when user searches for ideas, questions or problems they will be in search results

Thank you. We'll consider it for minor releases

I was thinking the same thing as it was very confusing when I looked at the information on this site to see them all mixed up together. I recommend having a drop down menu where user can select the view they want to see by clicking an "option select" menu. However by default it shouldn't show solved problems or implemented ideas. Maybe have an option where it says "all" and then all the other single combinations separately in the options menu.

Honestly I think it's a big deal and very important improvement. The reason is that answered/completed questions are not so interesting if you want to participate and have a feel for what goes on.

I think for many people including myself who is working with customer support they seem like clutter which is just in the way.

Rather than just removing them another (more useful) consideration could be to allow for checkboxes that lets you select the proper status. What if I want to see messages for category ABC that either requires feedback or are unresolved?

We've made "archived" topics for that. In 3.1 all archived topics won't be shown in the list or/and maybe in search results, though could be reached with direct link. Also there would be semi automated tool to archive topics without x days activity.

Let us know if this will work to cover

I think there should be no issues with letting the archived topics to be visible by search. I'd recommend it to be like this at least as default.

The natural way for the archiving to work is only on the completed/resolved topics. Anything else would be considered as an error if you would start archiving unresolved issues.

We can't share more details about how it will exactly work, as we are still polishing it for 3.1 release.
