Add support for sftp to enable safer updates. Many hosts are not allowing FTP anymore.

There is a PHP extension for SSH support (and sftp too): http://kevin.vanzonneveld.net/techblog/article/make_ssh_connections_with_php/

Thanks for sharing idea. We'll consider it for future releases, but we don't have plans as of now.

It will be rather simple to customize the code I think in auto-updater, but let's see if it's required by other members of community.

Done in 2.1 release

Hey guys, just wanted to add a strong "Second" to this request... FTP is really insecure which is why we have it disabled on all our servers by default.

Although I'm confused, isn't it available already in the auto updater??

Thanks!

Dan
