insert hyperlink with hotkey strg+k

Archived Jens Havelberg 3 years ago

hi friends,

in many applications (office word, microsoft teams ...) with CTRL+K the user can insert a hyperlink in selected text. https://www.google.com/search?q=shortcut+strg+k+insert+hyperlink

is it possible to implement this hotkey in UR agent backend too?

please rename the subject of this topic to CTRL+k instead Strg+k (german key) ;)

Over 9 million Google results for this feature... ;)

almost all editors support this function with the key combination

in day-to-day work this is really a hindrance. Even in Microsoft Outlook Web App, CTRL+K is the paste link. Why doesn't your richtext editor want to support that? Can we add this function with our own JS code?

Hey Jens, we move on and will get it done by the next release :)

I've tested the current behavior in the current release 7.9.5

Windows 11, Microsoft Edge Browser:

  • CTRL+K -> Open Dialog for input link -> after submit input the browser search menu in address bar will be open:

Mac OS X Ventura 13.5.1, Microsoft Edge Browser:

  • COMMAND+K -> isn't working (is the default shortcut for this function in all microsoft office applications on OS X)
  • CTRL+K -> open dialog for input link -> after submit the selected text will be deleted :(
