Report to show ideas and who voted for them?

Completed Mike B. 9 years ago

Does a report (or method to create such a report) exist to show ideas and who voted for them?

You can create any custom reports by accessing Report - Browse and saving custom filter with multiple fields. For example, if you want to get new ideas for the past 2 days without comments, you can choose and save it for your further usage.

Any statistics could be taken from topic options - Statistics. You can click on votes in statistics and see who voted for it

Thanks Stas I'll check out these details. By the way I like your ad-hoc reporting tool. We are looking for an ad-hoc module for our software, what technology are you using for yours?

Mike, you mean reports on dashboard, we've used chart.js

Hi Stas, thanks for identifying chart.js. I will ask our Engineering team if they are familiar with it. Regarding ad-hoc reporting is chart.js also used in this screen? http://screencast.com/t/QY0xjUZELw1e It's a very simple and useful inteface for customers to create their own reports based on predetermined relationships between tables and fields. We'd like to implement a similar strategy with our software.

Hi Mike,

There is no specific technology used for this. We've built it based on our Singular library and all the custom code.

The main thing here is to build logical db architecture to work with the data, so it's just a matter of great efforts applied to the software - no more specific technologies or techniques

I am trying to use the reporting tool to show ideas ranked by the number of votes. Is this possible? I can't find the option that allows me to add the votes in.

This is important so I can organize product ideas and present to the development team so we can put higher valued customer driven ideas to the top of the list.

Thanks

To get list of ideas by number of votes, please go to /topics page and select required filters at the top

Maybe I am missing an option, here is what i see when i go to the topic's page...there is no option to select a required field.

Is there not an option in the reports area to sort or include content by votes? Seems that you might want to look at all topics, KB posts, and FAQ by the votes or likes dislikes.

Thanks for the help

Hello Lee,

Check at this page - top right filter where New/Updated and select popular.

Got it, need to select Ideas first and then you can sort by new/updated. Would it be possible to add the ability to create a report option so you can pull a report by date and custom field. Say i have 1000 ideas but I only want to see the ideas for the last product version and only for the last three months. Just an idea so we can create a team report. Thanks

Hello Lee,

You can already choose custom fields in report starting from 3.3.1

Yes but you can't select popularity or voting as an option so you can't see how things are ranked. It would also be great to have a filter option on the reports when you select to add 'Display Also'.

If I am wrong let me know. Thanks as always for the help adn time.
