Single Sign On - not to send password?

Archived Michal S. 12 years ago

We are integrating useresponse with our service using SSO functionality. The problem we have is that useresponse is sending emails to our clients when the account is created. This is unnecessary and confusing because in our service users can only login using SSO and they do not need another passowrd. We don't see any option to disable that.

Please help.

We don't have it available built-in, but you can customize core here:

\application\modules\system\handlers\Events.php comment line 36:

  1. self::attachAggregate('afterRegistration', array(__CLASS__, 'onAfterRegistration'));

Though, no emails will be sent even after registration at all in the system.

Done in 2.3 release as a setting for SSO

Stas - I really feel this should be an option in UseResponse settings...

Like I said before, every time we edit the code, we cause a problem for updating the software...

It's the reason we STILL have not updated to 2.0.1 and 2.0.2... to many little tweaks in a dozen places just to try and make "new question" be default instead of "new idea". :-)

Dan, that's why system goes with open code and modular, to make all tweaks with the help of modules.

We just can't make all little enhancements with each new request, as we have some roadmap to stick to. Now we concentrate only on those requests that are popular and that we feel make UR simpler and better. Unfortunately your request, can be integrated this year, but we'll get back to it after 2.1 release for sure to decide what we can improve in API, authentication, etc
