Where do I go to update the types of files that can be attached to a post or KB article?

Hello.

Where can I go to add file types that can be added to the system. Is there a list in the admin area or is this done under the hood,

Hello Lee,

We have predefined list of extensions allowed to be attached. If any of the files are not attached, they could be zipped. As of now, we have it in the code - not managed

Ok. We have a few specific files that we require our clients to add for trouble shooting issues; .jar file, .log file, etc. It would be great if we could add new files at some point without asking the client to zip. thanks

I think its reasonable to add such type of files. Management is not possible due to security measures, sorry.

See the tweak in the next release

Good day Stas, you wrote "See the tweak in the next release". Is some tweak already available?

We really suffer because we have same problem as Lee. We have some specific file extensions that users really often attach to their posts. Now we almost every day write ... "Ah sorry, we forget to mention that you have to zip file before attach".

So "tweak" is more then welcome. Thanks for consideration.

We'll consider this feature for the releases after 4.0. Thank you for your thoughts.

Hello Jens,

Swf extension is added. Please unzip attached archive to application/3.4.4/modules/resources/services.

Hello,

now in Administration - System - General you can allow all file extensions to be accepted in your community.

Hope this solution would work for you.

Kind regards
