Search Widget: hitting enter doesn't open new window

Archived Joel Aemmer 10 years ago

If I'm using the Search Widget and I click on another response or I click the New Response they both open the community in a new browser tab, but if I hit the enter key it opens the community in the same window, which is a problem for me.

Joel,

As iframe is used inside widget, all pop-up windows will be blocked by browser, if hitting enter inside input area, so it's done to be opened in the same browser.

When user didn't find the answer, he will be forwarded to add question, idea or any topic inside community.

The best way here will be overriding header in theme with your website header, so it can be easily navigate between community and website

Hi Joel,

If you enter keyword to search, it will give you results in the same widget if any exist. But if there are no search results, it will go to adding new response page in community in the same window.

Could you please clarify what behavior you expect from widget for us to help you?

Widget will act as it acts. We'll improve behavior in 3.0 release
