Paging error (Version 2.0)

Archived Jennifer B. 12 years ago

There is an error with paging.

When going back and forth between the listing of All Questions and the listing of All Responses.

The error occurs whether you are logged in or not.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Go to Forum Home

2. On the right hand side, click Statistics->Questions

3. Click on "page 2" at the bottom - it does not work (reloads page 1 - may not happen the first time through - if you do not get the error continue to step 4 & 5)

4. On the left hand side click All Responses

5. Click on "page 2" at the bottom - fatal error

NOTE: This does not happen every time and you may have to go back and forth between the listing of questions and responses a few times clicking on the paging at the bottom (sometimes 4-5 times), but the error is very reproducible following these steps.

Here is a screen shot of the error messages (it is different on two different forums)

Fixed. The problem was in incorrectly saved .js file. It should have been saved in correct encoding and uploaded with binary mode.

Update: on some environments paging wasn't cached properly. Fix incorporated in 2.0.2

I reproduced this bug only in Safari browser - all the rest works good

Could you please confirm it?

I am able to reproduce in Chrome (mac & pc), Firefox (mac), and IE (pc). It can take a few times going through the steps, but it always happens.

view all questions - select a page number

view all topics - select a page number

repeat... (I sometimes have to repeat 3-4 times before I get the error, but it will happen)

Jennifer,

We've fixed the bug, could you please clean cache in browser and check if it's working correctly?

Hi there. This is working on forums.askdanandjennifer.com - but I also see the issue on http://support.theblogpress.com/ - what do I need to do to fix it there?

Now it should work. I've replaced all files from public/assets and public/themes - and checked.

I have the same problem with my installation. I have version 2.0 with a corporate license. How exactly can I fix this?

Jenniffer,

We've uploaded the fix to both of your forums and you shouldn't experience any problems with performance because of incorrect caching, that should work now. Fix will be incorporated in 2.0.2 as it happens only on some environements
