The agents receive emails on the topics posted, but the admin doesn't. Is this how the functionality is? If not how do i enable email triggers to Admin when there are new post?
Admin is considered to be agent. I think in your case, you are the author of the topics posted so you don't get notifications on new ticket or topic that you add. If someone else would add topic or ticket you would get notification by default.
