Installation on Win 2008 Web Server with IIS
Hello,
I'm trying to install the free edition, to evaluate the feedback system.
System: Windows 2008 R2 Web Server 64Bit with IIS
I've installed MySQL, PHP, etc. and have run the Test Probe of useResponse which says that everything looks fine.
When I'm now trying to install - firefox comes up with an empty site and IE says http 500. I've tested some other php scripting - which runs well.
Also - when I'm reaching some other php files within the useresponse folder
- they came back with a result - of course errors - because the
installation had to be run first.
Of course I've read now some hours within the Documentation and here in the community - but I doesn't find any helpful answers.
So at the moment I'm stuck.
I've read that the installation should start, when typing the domain. The thing is - that I need to have a subdomain - I couldn't start with e.g.: somethinghere.com - I have only a subdomain ( useresponse.somethinghere.com ) - and need to start with this. Could that be the problem - that the installation doesn't start at all?
Would appreciate any help.
Best regards
Christian W.
Unfortunately, we can't help you with Free version of product. You can evaluate Corporate package in Our Demo
P.S. For software it doesn't matter if you have domain or sub-domain. The problem is most probably with IIS rewrite rules (if it switched on)

Hi again,
you've said some hours ago within the online chat that I should have a look in the community - perhaps I could find my solution. I didn't find a solution after a couple of hours searching and testing - and also I'm asking here.
I fully understand that the free version isn't supported - but why could everyone ask questions in chat and within the responses? I ask a question and get a response that my version isn't supported - thats of course not what I'm assuming when I see a chance to post my question.
Your Demo App I've already tested - and it looks like that what we need, when we go online with our new software product. That is the reason why I'm testing your app - to include it in our concept and our system landscape. When GoLive is done - it is really possible that we upgrade. I think this is the most common way people do this. When the installation doesn't work - why should we gave more time on this? Perhaps it is a thought you could give on - I don't think we are the only ones...
Sorry for "offtopic" - perhaps you have another hint for me.
You gave me a hint with the URL Rewrite - I have installed it, because it was needed for useresponse - as far as I understood. Now you mentioned - this ocould be the problem if it is on. - So I disabled both conditions, restarted IIS and it gives me the same answer - http 500.
Thanks in advance for any more help

Christian,
In your situation it's very hard to identify the problem without access to your server (FTP), or screen sharing, and it would be only guesses why it's not working. So as you can see, this would be the option available only to customers with Corporate package.

Stas,
ok - I'll give it a try on a different server - tomorrow. I'll post my results here. If this isn't working, too - I will go further with the evaluation of the next feedback system.
Thanks for your answers.

Good luck with your experiments! Hope it will work on another server

Hi again,
only wanted to give a short feedback - after installing on a different system, it works now - again after some error managing. I suppose if it would be installed on a brand new system - the install would run smoothly. Here I have to integrate it into the existing system landscape - and of course have no new system for it.

Hello Christian,
Most of the systems that we had experience with on Win 2008 and IIS - problems are with IIS and web.config. Anyway, glad that it works on new server
