How to change order of "Top" - pinned posts?

Archived Dan B. 11 years ago

Hi guys! as our UseResponse support community grows, we find more important topics to put at "top" so they are seen first on the homepage.

But how can I change the order of those "top" posts shown? It seems to be by date created... but over time you find new things that are more important and you want those to be first and second, etc.

So how can I reorder these "Top" posts?

Referring to this homepage view for example: http://www.screencast.com/t/5rm8IlouN

Thanks!

There is is Top, Normal and Down priority on each response if you have manage_responses permissions in system. If you want to stick it to home page - just go to response and under voting button click on Top and it will be on home page no matter what sorting filter you have set in system settings

Hey Stas. Thanks - so maybe I'm doing it wrong. What I did was click "Top" every time there's a "good" topic to pin at the top.

So the first 10 items are now all "top" clicked. question is - how can I define what order those are in? Because the first one I clicked "top" on months ago keeps staying at top, but it's not as important as the newer ones I pinned...

As of now you have 5 topics shown on home page, so maximum to be pinned - 5 topics. If you pin more than 5 topics per response type, you'll have only 5.

Try to keep this number of topics (it should be changed in next release)

To get topics in normal mode, just click on normal and it will inherit behavior of system filtering or click down to never show it on home page

Hey Stas. OK cool, so if I only pin 5 - how can I sort them? :-)

Thanks!

Dan,

It's not possible to change the order between 5 top responses, but may I ask what is the reason for that, as i don't see application of that feature?

Hey Stas, nevermind... Jennifer agrees with your assessment. :-)

Thanks!
