How to apply for nonprofit package

Archived Corinne H. 12 years ago

I read in the FAQs that you offer a free package for nonprofits. How can I apply for this? I couldn't find anything else on your site.

Also, the FAQs mention that one of the limitations of the free package is that you can't change the url for UR. Does this mean that the free package is not self-hosted? Will the URL be something like http://www.myorganization.useresponse.com?

Thanks for your help!

We are currently working on that and we just want to decide how to distribute free or limited packages. So by 1.2 release we'll be ready to provide it. More information about Our Plans could be found here.

The options will be(we just need to choose which one of 3 will be made):

  1. Free Standard package for only chosen non-profit organizations that we see have potential and useful - it will be based on only our decision when someone applies;
  2. Free package fully encoded that will be based on Standard package;
  3. Fully encoded Standard package for $99.

As of now we are in the middle of choosing the right direction. Anyway, for non-profit organizations we'll set the license url and it can't be changed at profile. Also branding can't be removed or even purchased that is possible for our current packages. It means that if you want to use it for support.mysite.com, you'll be able to install self-hosted only at support.mysite.com and nowhere else. Also, support won't be priority to these customers.

How do I find out when 1.2 is available? I have a few open source projects, and would like to use UR to make feedback easier for other OS developers.

The next planned release is 2.0 with tons of enhancements and new modules that should be available by the end of June. It will be easy to update from 1.1.

Some big features are stated in following discussion
