How can we make some sections invisible but still accessible by search engines?
Hi,
We want to "hide" all the sections except ideas, that's it that end users can't see the menus or articles related to questions, thanks, etc listed on the frontpage. Doesn't matter if they can access them with direct url, better in fact so we can keep the SEO value if there is any and google don't get a bunch of 404 which would hurt us.
We want to do this because now we want to use the platform only for feedback and feature requests, like for example https://requests.whmcs.com
Regards,
Hello, Juan,
the example you provided is the forum where only ideas can be submitted. Problems, questions, thanks were switched off in this community in Administration - System - General.
You can change the settings of Search widget in Administration - Interface - Home Screen and select the option not to display topic types.
If you still want to use Search widget in the way as it's displayed now, you can hide other topic types with custom CSS in your custom theme. Please find here more details https://help.useresponse.com/knowledge-base/article/brand-your-system-with-custom-interface#self-hosted-guide. You can also hide some sections in Statistics widget in the right on home screen with custom CSS.
But you should keep in mind that other topic types will be displayed in the topics list until you switch them off in administration area.
Please let us know if you have more questions.

Hello, Juan,
there is no such option to hide topic types from the list on your home page and make them available with the full topic link. Sorry.
As I mentioned you can switch off unnecessary types in Administration - System - General and use the forum only to grab customers ideas.
Please let us know if you have more questions.

Juan,
System is not designed for such use case, sorry.
You either switch on types and they would be on everywhere or you hide them everywhere.
The only option we see is convert questions into ideas for them to be accessed by URLs as they won't be changed and then switch off types.

Thanks Stas, Is there a way to only show topics from 1 category in the home page? i could change the other questions into ideas, so the url is kept, and then only show the ideas from 1 new category in the home page, so the old ones aren't shown. Or only show ideas from a certain date onwards if thats possible.

Hello, Juan,
once you convert other topic types into ideas, you can edit Topics Filter widget in Administration - Interface - Home Screen, define to display New topics in the top of the list without grouping and define the number of topics available for users on the home screen (e.g. 10).
If you don't want to display categories on the home page, you can switch off Category widget in the right menu in Administration - Interface - Home Screen. With custom CSS you'll be able to hide Categories in the filter.
So your customers will see the latest ideas submitted in your community.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
