Collective translation

Answered Markus Hohenwarter 8 years ago

I like the collective translation tool, but I didn't find any info on how it works.

1) How does a translation get from "waiting" to "approved"?

2) What is voting good for?

3) When I make a typo and fix it, the tool creates second translation. Is there a way to delete / overwrite my own translation?

4) How does UseResponse team decide which locales are included as in the release?

Hello Markus,

First of al, I want to thank you for contribution in collective translations. Here are answers below:

  1. Translations get from waiting to approval manually during several days after submissions. We review it and decide if it should be approved.
  2. Voting is great when users consider the version of translation to be valid or invalid so they could decide which translation is better for specific keywords
  3. As for making a typo and fixing it - yes, it's a bug and we'll fix it during a day
  4. We include the translation in the package when it gets' 50-60%

As for contribution.. each user that significantly contributed in translation tool would get free agents or addons on specific amount of months, so if you continue translation of the system in the tool - we would provide you with free things from cloud.
