If you are Admin or have "Manage People" permissions, just go to user profile, click on settings at the left side and you'll get user email.

Then you need to logout and use Forgot Password feature, on login form, just enter the users email

Hey Stas. Sorry didn't get a chance to respond previously. I am familiar with that functionality - however sometimes people just do not receive the email with their auto-generated password... I don't know why, but it happens. Or they just can't find it. (this is most likely it lol)

But the reality is, when these people are our customers, that makes our job harder. :-)

As the system administrator role, it would be nice if I could go to a person's profile and just set a password for them.

For example this evening I am having a long email exchange with a BlogPress customer that can't login to the support community to ask the questions she needs to ask. She says she didn't get the email with the password, and she's frustrated... if i could just go to her profile and reset her password then i can send her the login info and she's happy, we can actually work on solving the questions she has. Does that make sense? :-)

That is the behavior you see in most systems that have user accounts and I really think it is the desired approach.

Thanks!

Dan

Yes, it makes sense and we'll consider it for future releases. As of now, you can do it in tricky way.

Go to PHPMyAdmin, users table, take your password and paste it to the users password field..

In the system go to user profile or login under user as he has the same password as you do and change it under profile settings.

I know it's not convenient, but as of now it should work
