Where does the poll data go?

We are wanting to use the poll feature to gather some insights from our clients. It seems this data is only viewable in the admin or agent area if you select to view the poll eyeball. Questions:

1. Does the poll capture the user who answer a question?
2. Is this data captured in the DB, can we export this?
3. If the data is in the system, can we pull some reports so we can track which polls work the best
4. Would it be possible to load a poll in other places like at the top of a category KB, if you want to have a poll specific to a product category
