This would be handy to know. also if using Windows 10 would there be any limitations to the clients using it? One of our clients is evaluating the cloud version currently with a view to running this inhouse on a VM running windows 10

There are no limitation on the hardware. If you have IIS setup there, or apache with php and mysql, the system would work. In the article there is mention about OS,
OS: Linux(recommended) or Windows
So software should run on any windows starting from xp and includes win server, vista, win 7, 8, 8.1 and 10
