Can you provide a quick sample of how to use the API?

Archived Chris Reppy 11 years ago

I've poked around the controller code and it seems that I can use it to import question data from my homegrown app's database. Problem is, I can't quite figure out how to navigate to it or authenticate. My guesses result in a generic error page.

I realize it's experimental, but can you give me a few hints to get started?

Chris, as API is experimental, we didn't publish documentation. We'll work more to make it 100% complete and usable by 2.0.2 release.

As of now, you can use docs and play with it using attached temporary api documentation.

Update: API is completed and published in 2.0.2 release already

Thanks! I was successful a couple of weeks ago using "create-response" and "create-answer" in the beta API. If I may make a suggestion, it would be useful for "create-response" to return the ID of the newly created record, since that is needed to call "create-answer".

All those, who waited to use API - the right time to update to 2.0.2 release with improved and finally live version to use in commercial packages, for deep integration of your apps or websites.
